Crantock Bale Push 2012
The Crantock Bale Push is a fun event for all ages. The races are run in teams of four pushing a full-sized round bale of straw weighing approximately 420 lbs and measuring 4' 6" in diameter over courses of differing length according to the class of race. The main course for the "180 veterans", and "The Open" is run over a full quarter of a mile through the village, both up and down hill, starting and finishing between the two village pubs - "The Cornishman" and "The Old Albion" Teams are invited to compete and help raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Newquay Rugby Surf Sevens 2012
The South West's biggest rugby tournament will see some of the UK's best 7s team's descend on Newquay Sports Centre on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2012, for a spectacular weekend of sport.

Olympic Torch visits Newquay
After all the planning and preparation the Olympic Torch Relay starts at Lands End on Saturday 19th May 2012. Visitng over 1000 communities throughout the United Kingdom, Newquay is scheduled to see the Torch bearer and the magical Torch on the very first day of this mammoth journey across our green and pleasant land. Round One and Two of the 2012 Zapcat Racing Championship takes place on Fistral Beach on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd April 2012. Come along and witness these super-powered, twin-hulled catamarans leap and twist out of the water. Two full days of Zapcat Racing. A great family spectacle!

West Country Cup 2012
Newquay Sports Centre plays host to footballs West Country Cup. This outstanding event is one of Britain's foremost Easter competitions, emphasising international football and family fun. Based in Newquay, one of Europe's leading holiday resorts, the tournament attracts teams from all over the UK. Teams from Europe and the USA have also participated in the tournament. The 2010 West Country Cup event brought together 60 teams from 30 different clubs!
Runway Runaround
Get ready for take-off at our unique 10k running event ‘airside’ at Newquay Cornwall Airport. Experience running past the terminal building, round the runway and through an aircraft hangar whilst raising vital funds to keep our helicopter flying! You will also run past round the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust’s new helicopter hangar. If 10k seems a bit daunting there is a 4k ‘fun run’ option for children and adults alike.
Social Saturday (FREE)
Social Saturday, on 7th January 2012, is a place for people to come and have a fun and friendly day out without worrying about the post-Christmas credit card bills. With free entry for all our Facebook fans until 1pm, cheap food and drink, games for kids and adults alike and a cracking game of rugby too, Social Saturday is the perfect carefree way to start off the New Year. Plus expect extra free stuff for Foursquare users too!

Little America's Cup 2013
The British C Class Catamaran Team INVICTUS will host all comers in 2013 for the Little America's Cup. First sailed in Britain in the 1960s, the Cup has not been won here for over 40 years. In Rhode Island USA, the 2010 event was won by the Canadian team; Invictus were 3rd out of 7.
In 2013 we expect 16-20 of these boats - 25 feet long, 14 feet wide, with a crew of two and a 42 feet high solid "wingsail", they are capable of 25 knots. This many have never been seen together before; they will come from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Sweden and Britain.
Festival of Sport – Cornwall
The UK’s first Festival of Sport Cornwall, a new annual three day festival open to all, will be held in Mount’s Bay in West Cornwall.
