Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is a Christmas story known to millions throughout the world. However, the award-winning actor and master of the one-man show Pip Utton manages to give this well-loved classic story a distinctive and enthralling twist, which can be seen in his performances at Fowey Town Hall this Christmas.

The beautiful seaside town of Fowey hosts a weekend of festive entertainment, food and drink along with plenty of opportunities to pick up some great Christmas gifts.

For one week each August the usually tranquil town of Fowey attracts thousands of visitors who flock there for the Fowey Royal Regatta, one of Britain’s premier sailing events. It is also a fun-filled week for all the family – sailors and landlubbers alike.

Ten days of entertainment featuring star names, talks, walks, theatre and concerts celebrating the town’s most famous literary resident, the author Daphne Du Maurier.

The 7th Fowey Christmas Market takes place at the Fowey Leisure Centre over the last weekend in November.

A fantastic location to do all your Christmas shopping in this large indoor leisure centre, with free parking, a huge number of traders selling a wonderful range of the very best of food, drink and crafts.

Fowey is a very attractive little harbour town, attracting visitors from far and wide. Many hotels and guest houses are full for the duration of the Christmas market.

A ‘Cornish Craft Fayre’ at Fowey Community College, Windmill, Fowey on 15 October 2011 from 10am-4pm, with free entry, disabled parking and refreshments available.

This fayre will feature Cornish crafts men and women, as in previous years, with items from jewellery to pottery, original artwork to photographs and many different sorts of cards, all crafted locally. Why not start the Christmas shop early and buy something different!

A Food Fayre showing what is available and made in Cornwall using Cornish produce. The exhibitors are Cornish food producers, Cornish businesses and members of the 'Made in Cornwall' scheme, they will be displaying their products for you to sample, buy or order. Refreshments will be available. This is taking place in the Cedars (college dining room),Fowey Community College, Fowey, which has disabled access and overlooks the Daphne Du Maurier Festival village. Entrance is by donation/free and will run from 10am-4pm.

The Fowey Royal Regatta is hailed by many as one of the best local regattas in the country.

Along with daily sailing races there are a number of other themed events mixed into the week including a midweek Carnival, Red Arrows display and ending with a spectacular Firework display over the harbour.
