On Thursday 15th December from 6pm to 9pm Lostwithiel will play host to its ever popular Dickensian Evening. This year, in addition to the late-night shopping and shopkeepers in Victorian garb, choirs, bands, craft stalls, roasting chestnuts and lashings of mulled wine there will be a Church sevice from 5.15pm with the Bishop of Truro in attendance and there will also be lantern parade through the town at 6.30pm.

An old fashioned steam extravaganza held by the Liskeard Steam and Vintage Club takes place in the magnificent grounds of the Boconnoc Estate near Lostwithiel and is one of the leading events of its kind in the South West. With its picturesque setting and many exhibits people travel far and wide to pay a visit.

With entertainment for the whole family, in the showground there are vintage vehicles from dozens of full size and miniature steam engines to motorcycles, bicycles, old tractors, sleek classic cars, stationary working engines and evocative commercial and military vehicles.

Gardeners’ question time, live music, plenty of local food on offer and there’s even a plant crèche that will look after your purchases while you enjoy the rest of the show.

Step back in time and enjoy a good old fashioned dose of festive cheer. Lostwithiel's Dickensian Evening begins at 6pm and continues through the evening till late with live music, festive food and lashings of good will.
