Whats on in Truro

The capital and the he only city in Cornwall,Truro sits at the head of the River Fal. A City with elegant Georgian architecture. In 1877 Queen Victoria granted Truro city status. Completed in 1910 the Cathedral has one of the highest spires in the country. Truro hosts many local specialist stores, and is a popular destination for visitors. There is an excellent Park and ride scheme or you can travel to the City by boat from Falmouth. Truro boasts an Marks and Spencers and the Hall for Cornwall.

Horn and Hare Fundraiser

Free to attend, this will be an evening of musical theatre songs performed by new musical theatre company 'Horn and Hare' plus an auction and a raffle with some great prizes. At the Burrell Theatre on the 19th April starting at 7pm, this is a chance to talk to and support the first theatre company of it's kind in Cornwall. Open Day at Roseland Parc Retirement Village

Help is at hand to clear up the confusion over living and care options available for the over 55s.

Experts from award-winning Roseland Parc retirement village will be on hand during an Open Day on Wednesday, 25th January to explain how different levels of need can be best met.

Two presentations will take place at 11am and 3pm with tours of the village’s facilities and available properties available between 10am and 6pm.

Truro City of Lights Festival

Truro will light up in spectacular fashion as the hugely anticipated City of Lights festival and parade delights the gathered crowds. The event sees a dazzling procession of withy and tissue lanterns, handmade and carried by professional artists, Cornish school children and local community groups. This year’s theme is wildlife, so come and see Fox Club’s wild contribution to the parade! To include music, dance and switching on of Christmas lights.

Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival

The fifth Festival will take place 27th April - 2nd May 2011.

Regional Gala Concerts will be held in most major towns across Cornwall. The International Gala Concerts will be held in Truro Cathedral, Truro Methodist Church and the Hall for Cornwall.

A warm welcome is assured with Cornish hospitality. The Festival atmosphere is very special and, in addition to over 20 concerts across Cornwall the Festival also includes:
