Cornwall Food and Drink Festival - 24 - 26th September 2010 Welcome to the sixth Cornwall Food and Drink Festival. Always guaranteed to create a buzz, it is the largest event anywhere dedicated to Cornish food and drink and this year it's even bigger and more action-packed than ever. There will be plenty of fun for all, with so much going on that you can make a real day of it - for the whole family. Unlike many food and drink festivals these days, entry to ours is free and there is no charge for any of the professional demonstrations and activities. At this year's festival you will see farmers, artisans and acclaimed chefs, all from Cornwall, demonstrating the dedication, skill and hard work that have created that well deserved reputation. Nothing creates more excitement than a bit of competition and this year we are laying down the gauntlet with two tasty challenges - The Presenters’ Challenge 10am, Friday 25 September: BBC Radio Cornwall Breakfast Show presenter James Churchfield has a point to prove at this year’s festival. An enthusiastic cook, he has been challenged by co-host Pam Spriggs to this cook-off in front of a live audience. Judges will decide who can cook the best autumn meal using the Cornish ingredients given on the day. The fastest chefs in the west show the skills that make them the most wanted. The Chefs' Theatre will be transformed into a restaurant for the evening, where a small number of exceptionally lucky diners will get to see their five course dinner prepared by these very special chefs in front of them. After dinner, once the pressure is off, diners will get a chance to chat with them as they relax. Tables at this fundraiser are almost sold out, so get in touch with the organisers now if you are interested in a corporate or group purchase of a table for eight, or to reserve one at next years prestigious event. Contact Alex Harris at 01208 850508 for bookings.
