Sunday June 21st will see The 2009 CORNWALL Summer BEAR FAIR staged at the Lostwithiel Community Centre (PL22 0HE). This will be the tenth Fair in Cornwall organised by the partnership of Emmary Bears and Teddies of Trenode - Emmary Fairs, and this 2009 Fair promises to be even better!

The Community Centre, situated alongside the A390, which runs through Lostwithiel – ‘ The Antiques Centre of Cornwall ’ – is a very popular venue and has very good catering facilities, with free parking outside and throughout the town itself.

This June the Fair will feature over 45 stands with hundreds of teddy bears - old and antique – new artist and designer, handcrafted by national international and top local artists - with many from Cornwall. Local bear artists include Pogmear Bears from St Austell, Huntersfield Bears from Camborne and Fairyland Bears from St Ives.

Among the many stands, Apple Pie House will again be there with an amazing range of Steiff, Deans, Merrythought, R John Wright and Deb Canham miniatures among many others. There will also be Urchins Bears from Boscastle and Kingswear Bears from Devon. Tricia of “Teddies of Trenode” will have an extensive selection of ‘oldies’ to choose from and will also be giving free valuations for any ‘veterans’ brought in. In addition, two Charities will a be present and endorsed - WSPA’s “Libearty” and Cornwall Hospice Care

Emmary Bears will as usual be providing a full range of bear kits, bear making supplies, materials and accessories. Barbara-Ann, with her wacky bears, and now her Norbeary Fabrics (including fabulous Schulte and Hermbold mohairs), will also be in attendance

There will also be a Prize Draw for Special Teddies and a Champagne Competition with an Engraved Cup for an ‘Own Bear Creation’ of any size, dressed or undressed - Summer or Fathers’ Day themes - open to all attendees / visitors and stall holders – take yours! Voting by all attendees.

The Fair will take place between 10.00am and 4.00pm and entrance fees will be £2.00 for adults, and children under 14 will be admitted for free.
