The Royal Cornwall Museum and Courtney Library will be closed from Saturday 5th December – Friday 8th January 2010 inclusive for essential collections work. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Romi Behrens 3 October 2009 – 30 January 2010
Retrospective of this widely admired Cornish artist including examples of her landscape, portrait and still-life work.

Nik Strangelove: SITES 9 January – 27 March
Man-made structures from around Cornwall star as striking abstract images in this dynamic photographic exhibition.

Sir John St Aubyn – the Secret Life of a Collector 9 January – 27 February
A rare chance to see the remarkable natural history collection of this colourful Cornish collector.

James Ravilious: An English Eye 13 February – 17 April
Beautiful, honest and warmly sympathetic black and white images capture the essence of everyday life in the West Country.

Family Fun
There’s something for families to do everyday at the museum. Our permanent collections in the Cornish, Minerals and Wildlife galleries all have family friendly activities available to help explore them. In addition special family friendly events and creative activities take place throughout the year.

Explorer Half Term Fun
Tuesday 16 Feb 10am – 4pm
Join us on the launch of our revamped Cornish Gallery and go exploring with our new Explorer Backpacks courtesy of Foot Anstey.

‘Gigantic’ half term fun

10am -4pm Free
We’re thinking BIG with a range of fun activities based on our famous painting ‘The Cornish Giant’.

What’s In the Box?
With a different theme each time, these hands – on sessions run throughout the year. Learn about the museum’s treasures through handling objects, art and craft activities, stories, songs and rhymes.
For ages 2-4 years. Booking essential
£3.00 per child, accompanying adult free.

Charges:
Entry to the museum and all exhibitions is free to everyone unless otherwise stated.
Use of the Courtney Library is free to RIC Members.

Opening Hours and Closures:
Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm. Closed Sundays and Bank Holidays.
The Courtney Library closes for lunch Monday – Friday, all day Thursday and on Saturday afternoons.
