St.Piran’s Day
|
05/03/2010
Events held throughout the county to commemorate St.Piran, the patron saint of tin mining. The modern observance of St Piran's day as a national symbol of the people of Cornwall started in the late 19th and early 20th century when Celtic revivalists sought to provide the people of Cornwall with a national day not unlike those observed in other nations. Since the 1950s, the celebration has become increasingly observed.
Note: You should always check with the organisers before making any plans related to an event. The Cornwall Calendar publishes event details in good faith but NO responsibility is taken for errors, event cancellations etc. etc.
