Truro Carnival has been a tradition in Truro for many years, some residents may recall the days when people would come from all the surrounding villages and towns to take part in the Carnival parade or to just enjoy the atmosphere and the procession. Today the Truro Carnival is organized by the 'Truro Carnival Committee' a group of people who are passionate about keeping the long-running tradition of Truro Carnival alive and the bringing back of the community spirit to an event steeped in tradition. On Carnival day - 11th September, there will be a 'Party Picnic' at Hendra Park from 11am. Families are encouraged to bring along a picnic and enjoy face painting, small children's rides, glamourous Granny and gorgeous Grandad competitions along with welly throwing and other activities. A fun way to enjoy your Saturday before watching the colourful Carnival procession which starts at 6pm from Hendra Park.
